Is there a minimum requirement to join MMSC?
It is expected that the applicant will be at least 7 years of age and can swim at least 25 meters using 2 strokes.
How do I apply to join MMSC?
There are 2 ways that you can apply to join Melton Swimming Club.
a) You can use the "Contact us" form (found on our Home page) with your details.
b) You can contact the New Starters' Coordinator, by registering for a Trial using the Reigister for a Trial form
c) When your application for a trial has been received you will be sent a link to a full Registration form which we ask you to fill in before the night of the trial. Unsuccessful applicants will have all details deleted
How will I know my application has been accepted?
Initially you will be contacted by our New Starters' Coordinator who will inform you of the time and date when you should attend the club for an Induction after which you will be informed if you have been successful.
What is the Induction?
Each person who applies to join the club is required to take part in the Induction process. This is usually a 40 min review which takes place in the small training pool (very rarely in the large pool). It is conducted by a Senior Coach who will look at the swimmer and assess their ability and whether they can meet the requirements of the club's standards.
What should I bring to the Induction?
A swimming hat (if you normally wear one), we advise 2 pairs of goggles (in case of breakage),
How long after the Induction will I know?
You will be told on the night of the Induction of the club's decision. Successful candidates will start their training 1 week later. Unsuccessful candidates will be told of the reasons why they were not successful this time with recommendations on how to improve before applying again.
I have been accepted - is there anything more I should know?
Successful candidates will be given a "Starters' Pack" which contains all the details about the club and forms which you should return before or on the night that you start with the club.
I wasn't accepted, what can I do now?
The club holds an Induction process every 14 weeks to coincide with its Training Cycle. You can apply again to be included at the next Induction.
Why can't I log on?
To log on to the Melton Swimming Club Website you must have a Username and Password. To obtain either contact Dave Rushin (Administrator) and the details will be sent to your e-mail address. You can contact him through the "Contact us" page on the Home page.
I've forgotten my USERNAME
If you have forgotten your Username then don't panic. Just use the "Contact us" page with your request and it will be sent to you. Alternatively you can speak to Dave at the club.
I've forgotten my PASSWORD
If you have forgotten your Password then don't panic. Just use the "Contact us" page with your request and it will be sent to you. Alternatively you can speak to Dave at the club.
My Username or Password doesn't work
Check that you have entered the correct details - remember your Password and Username are case sensitive and that you must log on as a swimmer. If that still doesn't allow you in contact the Administrator.
